Final Project; Social Studies

By: Kelly Harris

During 6th grade I learned many things. Those things include:

The Black Death, inequialities, Population Dynamics, and I also

learned a little more information about poems which helped me

a lot. These are just examples from the many of things I

learned in 6th grade academically.

What did I learn socially? I learned that not all rumors a true.

I also learned the tiniest rumor can start the biggest of fights

between even the bestest of friends. I also learned that people can

tell when you like someone and once they know, everyone knows.

Additionally I learn that the more you help others in their time of

need, you get a lot of help in your time of need.

There is one historical event that has had a impact on me which

is the April 16, 2011 tornadoes. There were 8 determined touch downs.

This event impacted me because as I was watching and hear what had

happened to the people that got hit, I cried. It hurt me to listen to so

much pain, yet I did not want to stop hearing/watching it. To live

through an experience like them would be horrid. I would be scared

where I would never want to sleep again. I can not even imagine the

feelings of those who lost love ones in the tornadoes. I diffently learned

a lesson from this historical event. Love the ones you love with care,

because someday they just might be gone.

In my future I am determined to be a doctor or at least someone

that puts a huge impact on the world by helping people. To reach my

dream I must do good in school. In middle school, I know I will never

get held back and I know I will pass. In high school, I know for sure

I am going to do my best to succeed. I will pass high school and I will

graduate. In college I am set on going to University of North Carolina

Chapel Hill. I hear that they have wonderful medical classes that will

take me where I want to go. Beyond that is a mystery to me, but I

hope it turns out well.

Not too much has changed since Kelly started middle school.

She had already developed good skills in organizing her homework

and projects to make sure they were turned in on time. Physically,

Kelly has grown taller (she is taller than me) and because of this,

she looks older than she really is. I would say the biggest and

most noticeable change is Kelly's thought processes. For example,

her view of people and what is going on around her has matured and

she is making better decisions. There are even times when she

actually makes good sense and arguing with her is mute. She is

definitely showing her independence and individuality. Now if she

would only clean her room!
